Problem with Electromagnetic clutch c800he

Hello,

I have got a problem with my Countax c800 he from 1999/2000

Everything was working fine until the electromagnetic clutch stopped working.

I already checked both fuses on the PCB board (two 10A).

I removed the two wires going to the clutch and measured the clutch connector with a voltmeter. I got 3.9-4 ohms.

When the engine and the cutter switch is on the top position (activate clutch) I got 12.4v. On the middle position around 10.5v

If I apply 12v straight from the battery to the clutch I can hear something clicking, but I am still able to move the belt by hand, which is strange as in theory it should be attached to the crankshaft when power is applied to the clutch.

I would say that the clutch is dead, but I get 4 ohms resistance which may indicate that coil inside the clutch is still ok.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Many thanks in advance

You only have 12v when the engine is running ? as you should have 14v when the engine is running. If you have a problem with the charge circuit then you will have an issue with your deck engaging.

Please check the fuses.

Do you have an indicator that flashes on the dash when you engage the deck ?
